Presenter, model & content creator

Positive ageing and midlife advocate

Katie is a wearer of many hats and an embracer of change – after working in business and language teaching for over 15 years, at the age of 40, she kicked it all in for a life in front of the camera as a model and presenter – working with dogs, horses and numerous different ‘husbands!’ You may have seen her in TV ads, brochures and the national press. It is important to her that midlife women (and beyond!) are represented in the media and marketing as the vibrant and dynamic women that they are and not stereotyped and resigned to the ageist scrapheap.

Unfortunately when Covid hit, her modelling work disappeared and so she pivoted to focus on her ever-growing Instagram community of wonderful and positive midlife women. It’s safe to say that it kept her sane, gave her a purpose and enabled her to build real friendships. This has now become a passion of hers as she hopes to help and support women navigating their midlife years and beyond with positivity and confidence and moreover inspire the younger generations to not fear ageing or see it as an inevitable decline. Midlife should be a time to become the person you should have always been/really want to be, not the beginning of the end. It all comes down to your mindset.

Society and the beauty industry have managed to brainwash us all into thinking that getting older is a terrible thing to dread but it can actually be the most liberating of times once we shed the weight of everyone else’s expectations and negative opinions.

It’s really important to her to be as honest, open and as genuine as possible in life as well as on Instagram. To not only show the best bits of life, and the glossy bits of her professional career, but the real life highs and lows too.

What it has done, is show her how much she loves to write, share and inspire – particularly in the areas of physical/mental fitness, self care and wellbeing. She’s also not afraid to discuss some of the topics that others may shy away from if it will help women to feel less alone.

Quotes she lives by – change your mind and you’ll change your world and feel the fear and do it anyway! (well on the days that you’re wearing your superwoman pants anyway!)

If that’s not enough, at the age of 49, she trained to become a humanist wedding celebrant and is loving being a special part in a couple’s love story.

You’re never too old and it’s never too late!
